The Deputy Minister for Multilateral Issues of the Ministry of People's Power for Foreign Affairs, Rubén Darío Molina, participated in bilateral meetings with senior officials of the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO), as well as the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) from the city of Vienna, capital of Austria, as part of the work agenda.

This was reported by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic through its official account on the social network Instagram, in which it emphasized that this meeting analyzed the benefits for Venezuela of the Technical Cooperation Program (Country Program), signed with this multilateral body in May 2018, initially conceived for the period 2018-2022, but which was later extended to 2024, which was based on the national agricultural sector.

Present at the venue were the Ambassador and Permanent Representative to International Organizations, Claudia Salerno Caldera; Minister Counselor, Gustavo Villarroel Valdez, and the Managing Director of the Directorate of Technical Cooperation and Sustainable Industrial Development of UNIDO, Ciyong Zou.

The above-mentioned authorities of the UN agencies shared the interest of the Bolivarian nation in extending for a period of five or six months during 2025, the Country Program in its current phase, called the “Industrial Update and Modernization Program”, which began in December 2020.

In view of the above, a joint work is planned, in which projects will be designed and planned in order to adapt their structure to the new modality promoted by UNIDO, called the “Partnership Program for Countries”, an initiative that is more appropriate for obtaining funding from donor countries.
