The Government of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela expressed solidarity this Friday with the People and Government of the Islamic Republic of Iran in the face of the narratives of confrontation recently issued by the Donald Trump Administration in the United States (USA) against the Persian country.
In a statement released by Foreign Minister Yván Gil, Venezuela noted that “such pronouncements represent a risk to international peace and hinder the construction of solutions based on mutual respect.”
Below is the full text of the document:
The Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela expresses its deep concern at the recent narratives of confrontation issued by the Government of the United States of America against the sister Islamic Republic of Iran. In this regard, Venezuela expresses its firm solidarity with the Iranian People and Government, calling for the cessation of interventionist positions that compromise regional stability.
We consider that the use of language of force departs from the fundamental principles of the Charter of the United Nations. Such pronouncements pose a risk to international peace and hinder the construction of solutions based on mutual respect.
Venezuela notes with concern how it is intended to destabilize Iran through the use of digital platforms to promote internal conflict, a technique typical of the Fifth Generation War. This situation is aggravated by the impact of Unilateral Coercive Measures that seek economic suffocation, configuring a strategy of external pressure that violates the sovereignty and social peace of the sister Iranian nation.
The Bolivarian Government, faithful to its vocation for peace, reaffirms that the only path to lasting stability is sovereign dialogue and diplomacy, without foreign interference. We urge the international community to promote spaces of understanding where Iran's inalienable right to resolve its internal affairs within the framework of its own legality and autonomy is respected.
