The Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela participated as guest of honor in the 14th edition of the International Cultural Festival of Symphonic Music, held in Algeria.

The South American country was worthily represented by the “Simon Bolivar” Chamber Orchestra, a member of the Venezuelan National System of Youth and Children's Orchestras and Choirs (El Sistema), an artistic and social example around the world.

As part of this event, on April 13, a total of 79 people, including musicians guided by the masterful baton of director Enluis Montes Olivar, accompanied by a management support team from El Sistema, arrived in Algiers to give a brief public concert in the Plaza de la Grande Poste in the Algerian capital and begin the scheduled rehearsals with the members of the Algiers Opera Orchestra, which lasted until April 17, the date of great premiere of the event.

At the inauguration, the Venezuelan musicians, in fusion with the Algiers Opera Orchestra, dazzled the Algerian audience that filled the theater that night, with a repertoire that included pieces by M. Ravel and D'vorak.

Venezuela, as a guest of honor, raised its flag and brought to Algeria, through its music and culture, the Bolivarian Diplomacy of Peace.
