The Minister of People's Power for Foreign Affairs, Yván Gil, reported that he had a telephone conversation with the Foreign Minister of Serbia, Marko Đurić, in which the willingness of the Bolivarian Government of Venezuela to strengthen bilateral ties and to advance economic and commercial cooperation mechanisms between the two nations was ratified.

During the exchange, the Venezuelan Foreign Minister transmitted, on behalf of President Nicolás Maduro, a message addressed to the President of Serbia, Aleksandar Vučić, expressing support for actions by external actors that seek to alter social stability in Serbia and the Balkan region.

It should be noted that diplomatic relations between Venezuela and Serbia date back to 1881, when they were formally established. For more than 140 years, both countries have maintained sustained political, economic and cultural ties.
