Venezuela strengthens strategic alliances with UN Tourism

The Minister of Popular Power for Tourism, Daniella Cabello, held a videoconference this Thursday with the Secretary General of the United Nations (UN) Tourism, Shaikha Al Nowais, with the purpose of strengthening international cooperation and positioning Venezuela as a world reference destination in tourism.

The meeting took place from the spaces of the International Hotel in Valencia and was attended by the Deputy Ministers of National and International Tourism, Nadia Mignogna and Marcos Medina, respectively, who presented the advances of the sector aligned with the strategic objectives of UN Tourism.

The authorities proposed the creation of a joint road map to strengthen relations between Venezuela and the highest international tourism body, aimed at promoting sustainable development and consolidating the position of Destination Venezuela.

It was also agreed to advance cooperation and technical assistance mechanisms with the support of UN Tourism, especially to project indigenous, cultural and heritage tourism experiences, in addition to promoting good practices and international standards in the sector.

Minister Cabello emphasized during her speech that “tourism is the secret weapon of the Venezuelan economy” and assured that the country works to show the world “the magic of our land, the warmth of our people and the infinite potential of our landscapes”.

This exchange seeks to consolidate strategic alliances that increase the flow of international visitors and strengthen Motor Tourism as one of the fundamental axes of national economic development.
