The Foreign Minister of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Yván Gil, thanked, on behalf of President Nicolás Maduro, his counterpart from Cuba, Bruno Rodríguez, for commemorating the anniversary of the popular victory that rescued Commander Hugo Chávez.

“This milestone not only restored democracy in our country, but it also allowed the continuity of Venezuela's revolutionary and sovereign process. Their support and solidarity are fundamental on this path,” Gil said.

The Cuban foreign minister wrote on his account on the social network X: “23 years ago, the people of Venezuela and Commander Hugo Chávez defeated the fascist coup d'etat.”

“We reiterate our support for the Bolivarian and Chavista Revolution, its Civic-Military Union and its President Nicolás Maduro, in the face of threats, sanctions and external pressures,” Rodríguez said.

On April 13, 2002, President Hugo Chávez was rescued after being kidnapped by the fascist right wing who intended to assassinate him.
