Venezuela thanks Iran for recognizing the election results

The Foreign Minister of the Republic, Yván Gil, through his Telegram channel, thanked, on behalf of President Nicolás Maduro, the Islamic Republic of Iran for its support for last Sunday's election results.

“We express our sincerest gratitude to the sister Islamic Republic of Iran for its significant message of support and its warm congratulations addressed to our people, on the occasion of the successful mega-elections held on May 25,” wrote the Foreign Minister.

He also reiterated the ties of brotherhood that unite Caracas and Tehran .

Gil's message responds to a publication from Iran in which he states “We congratulate the Bolivarian people and government of #Venezuela for holding elections to the National Assembly, governorates and local legislative councils, which were held in a quiet environment and with the presence of more than 1400 international observers (...) The people of Venezuela, in these elections, once again demonstrated their participation in determining their political destiny. We wish success and glory to the people of Venezuela and their elected representatives.”
