This Tuesday, June 18, Venezuela extended its gratitude to Nicaragua for its solidarity with the attempts of the United States government to steal the Venezuelan company Citgo Petroleum Corporation (CITGO).

“We thank our friends in Nicaragua, President Daniel Ortega and Vice President Rosario Murillo, for their firm rejection of the theft of our company CITGO, carried out in complicity with the Government of the United States, the surrendering Venezuelan opposition and large corporations,” wrote the Foreign Minister of the Republic, Yván Gil, on behalf of the people of Venezuela and the President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro, through his account on the social network X.

In the statement, Nicaragua condemned “these absurd abuses that reflect an invariable filibuster behavior on the part of the United States that has done so much harm, and continues to do, to the World and to the Human Community.”
