The Bolivarian Government of Miranda delivered 411 cylinders of domestic gas to municipalities in the municipalities of El Hatillo and Baruta, according to information issued by the entity.

Through an official statement, the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela rejected “the provocative and delusional” statements issued by the president of the Cooperative Republic of Guyana, Irfaan Ali.

The message was published by Venezuelan Foreign Minister Yván Gil, on his Telegram channel, where he noted that Irfaan exercises the administration of Guyana “as a result of the fraudulent dispossession of historically Venezuelan territory executed by the United Kingdom.”

Below is the full text of the statement:

The Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela categorically rejects the provocative and delusional statements issued by the president of the Cooperative Republic of Guyana, Irfaan Ali, from the territory of Guiana Essequiba, an area under his administration as a result of the fraudulent dispossession of historically Venezuelan territory executed by the United Kingdom.

The statements of the Guyanese president constitute a falsification of historical and legal truth. The argument over the invalidity or validity of the Paris Arbitration Award of 1899 was buried by the parties when the Geneva Agreement of 1966 was signed between Venezuela, the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland and the then Guiana

British, now the Cooperative Republic of Guyana.

Venezuela has made it absolutely clear, and has recently reiterated before the International Court of Justice itself, that it does not and will not recognize the jurisdiction of that instance to settle this territorial dispute. Venezuela has never given its consent to the above-mentioned Court to hear the lawsuit filed unilaterally by Guyana, in open violation of the spirit and purpose of the Geneva Agreement, the only valid and current legal instrument for resolving the border dispute through a practical, satisfactory and mutually acceptable solution.

Consequently, Guyana has the obligation to sit face to face with Venezuela and directly negotiate a solution in accordance with international law and the mechanisms established in the Geneva Agreement of 1966.

The Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela confirms that it will never renounce its historical rights over Guiana Essequiba and will continue to defend them through the corresponding diplomatic, political and legal channels.
