The Venezuelan Figital soccer team was named champion in the Games of the Future, which took place until this Sunday in Kasán, Russia.

Through his account on the social network X, the Minister of People's Power for Youth and Sports, Mervin Maldonado, explained that in video games, Venezuela beat Azerbaijan 7 to 2, while in the physical test he did it 2 to 1.

The Figital is an innovative multi-sport tournament that integrates the physical spectrum of conventional sports with the digital spectrum involved in electronic sports.

Venezuela also won the runner-up in Digital Basketball, after being overtaken in the final by Vietnam. The Venezuelan team, made up of José Javier Bracho, Enderson Álcala, Wilklerman Gómez and Raymond Roca and led by José Gallardo, defeated Cuba, Colombia and Russia to reach the final of the event.

Russian President Vladimir Putin inaugurated the 2024 Future Games on February 23, in which delegations from 107 countries participate and close this Sunday, March 3.

The sports director of the Games, Vladislav Ershov, explained that 21 disciplines were played: 16 basic and 5 additional, divided into five categories: Sport, Tactics, Strategy, Speed and Technology.

According to Russian Deputy Prime Minister Dmitri Chernishenko, around two billion people around the world watched the Future Games.
