The Venezuelan weightlifting delegation was crowned champion in the Junior Pan American Championship in the specialty that it carried out in Havana, Cuba, after winning 1, 2 gold medals, 1 4 silver and 9. bronze, for a total of 35 medals.
In the Venezuelan women's division, she won 5 gold medals, 7 silver and 4 bronze medals, to occupy the second position in the overall table of women with the most medals, which was led by the representation of the United States and the third place went to the Colombians.
For its part, the Venezuelan men's team ranked highest in the standings, winning 7 gold, 7 silver and 5 bronze medals. Second place went to Brazil and Colombia completed the podium, according to information published by Cuba's National Institute of Sports, Physical Education and Recreation (INDER) website.
The most outstanding Venezuelan was Ángel Rodríguez who won 3 gold medals in the starting modalities (156 kg), envión (190 kg) and total (365 kg), while the women's medal was Kerly Montilla, who also won 3 gold medals.
With their great participation in the championship, the Venezuelans were left with 6 places, 3 women's and 3 men's, for the Asunción 2025 Junior Pan American Games to be held from August 9 to 23, 2025.
