Venezuela wins gold in the Grand Prix of Track Cycling in Bogotá

The Venezuelan national team won team speed in the UCI C2 Track Cycling Grand Prix, at the Velodrome of the El Salitre Sports Unit, in Bogotá.
The men's team beat Colombia in the final and secured first place on the podium, according to a press release.
Hersony Canelón, Alberto Torres and Yorber Terán recorded a time of 00:58,734 and completed the regulatory rounds of the Elite category to obtain the medal endorsed by the International Cycling Union.
The women's team made up of Carliany Martínez, Jaylmar Rodríguez and Michell Manzi won the silver medal with a time of 1:08,347 on a day that brought together 231 cyclists from 11 countries.
The Grand Prix has points for the UCI ranking and is part of the qualifying process for the Santo Domingo 2026 Central American and Caribbean Games. With the results obtained in Bogotá, Venezuela is making headway in the Olympic cycle in speed modalities.
