The Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela rejected this Monday the interventionist actions of a group of governments in the region that seek to ignore the results of the presidential elections this Sunday, July 28, in which the revolutionary leader Nicolás Maduro triumphed with more than 51% of the votes.
In a statement, released by Foreign Minister Yván Gil, the Bolivarian Government announced that, “in the face of this disastrous precedent that threatens our national sovereignty, it decides to withdraw all diplomatic personnel from missions in; Argentina, Chile, Costa Rica, Peru, Panama, the Dominican Republic and Uruguay, at the same time, to demand that these governments immediately withdraw their representatives from Venezuelan territory.”
In the text, they denounce that this group of right-wing governments, “subordinate to Washington and openly committed to the most sordid ideological postulates of international fascism”, are trying to “reissue the failed and defeated Lima Group”.

The Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela expresses its strongest rejection of the interventionist actions and declarations of a group of right-wing governments, subordinate to Washington and openly committed to the most sordid ideological postulates of international fascism, trying to reissue the failed and defeated Lima Group, which seek to ignore the electoral results of the Presidential Elections held this Sunday, July 28, 2024, which gave the victory as President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela to Nicolás Maduro Moros, for a new Constitutional Period 2025 2031.
The Government of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, faced with this disastrous precedent that threatens our national sovereignty, decides to withdraw all diplomatic personnel from missions in Argentina, Chile, Costa Rica, Peru, Panama, the Dominican Republic and Uruguay, while demanding that these governments immediately withdraw their representatives in Venezuelan territory.
In addition, the Government of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela reserves all legal and political actions to ensure respect, preserve and defend our inalienable right to self-determination.
The Bolivarian Government will face all actions that threaten the climate of peace and coexistence that so many efforts have demanded of the Venezuelan people, which is why we are opposed to all the interventionist and siege pronouncements that repeatedly attempt to ignore the will of the Venezuelan People.
