Venezuela won 7 weightlifting medals on the first day of the 2024 Ayacucho Bicentennial Games, which are being held in Peru.

The Creole delegation won one in gold, four in silver and 2 in bronze.

Mariangeli Martínez in the 45 kg category with a 66 kg starter, an 88 kg drive and a total of 154 kg and winning the gold one.

For their part, Kerlys Montilla (49 kg), Angello Solorzano (55 kg), Reinner Arango and Rosselyn Uzcátegui (55 kg) added the silver ones.

Meanwhile, the bronze medals came from Dionagel Vargas in the 61 kilograms and Anyelin Venegas in the 59 kg with a total of 205 kg.
