Venezuelan athletes, leagues and federations unite in solidarity with Venezuela after the earthquakes of 24J

Faced with the difficult situation that Venezuela is going through after the earthquakes that occurred on June 24, various athletes, nations, leagues and federations have raised their voices to express their support, strength and show their commitment to the country's recovery.

From the Lara State Sports Village, the members of the Women's National Handball Team sent a heartfelt message of encouragement to the entire country, reaffirming their support to Venezuelans in these times of contingency.

“We know that sport is one of the sources that unites us as a family, as a sport and as a society,” said the athletes,

For its part, the Venezuelan Baseball Federation issued a statement expressing its deep sadness and solidarity in the face of the tragedy. “There are no words to alleviate pain, but we keep our faith and ask God for the strength to move forward,” the letter said.

They also thanked the Venezuelan people and sister countries for the help provided during this emergency.

For his part, manager Oswaldo Guillén joined the expressions of support, calling for unity: “At this difficult time, I ask you for unity, strength and hope; they are essential to move forward.”

Guillén also dedicated his prayers to those who have lost loved ones or have been injured, and recognized the tireless work of those who work in the affected areas.

The top scorer of Vinotinto also expressed his pain and concern for the Venezuelan people, “a misfortune happened that no one in the world wanted and my people had to experience it. We are helping from and how we can, organizing things from a distance.”

“One is far from working focused on what the profession is, but a soccer player never ceases to be human (...) I am sure that we are going to get out of this, we are going to get up as we have always done, that is something that always characterizes us Venezuelans. All my energy and blessings and my heartfelt condolences to all those families who lost their loved ones,” he said.

From the United States, soccer player Telasco Segovia, in collaboration with the Inter Miami CF Foundation and the city of Doral, is collecting inputs and financial contributions. “I am here not as a player, but as a Venezuelan who is more concerned about the situation in his country,” said the athlete, stressing that his goal is to “transform solidarity into real help” to accompany affected families in their recovery process.

The Venezuelan Professional Baseball League (LVBP) issued a joint institutional statement in which, together with the eight teams that make it up, it expressed its deep regret and solidarity with the families affected by the earthquakes of June 24, 2026.

The agency expressed its gratitude and support to the rescue forces that have worked tirelessly in the affected areas, with particular emphasis on the state of La Guaira.

“We wholeheartedly accompany the affected families, raising our prayers for the speedy recovery of the injured, the rest of those who lost their lives and the prompt location of the people who are still dissimilar,” he said.

Meanwhile, the Venezuelan Football League (FUTVE League) also issued a statement, adding to the words of solidarity and strength for all the communities that were affected by the recent seismic events in the country.

“We know that in these difficult times, it is when the great virtues of Venezuelans are most evident: their solidarity, empathy, spirit of cooperation and vocation for service. In our prayers are all the families that today are facing the consequences of earthquakes and also the rescue and assistance bodies that work tirelessly and heroically to help the victims,” he said.
