Venezuelan Athletics goes with a solid squad to the South American Youth Games Panama

Venezuelan athletics will arrive with their best under-18 squad to the capital of Panama to participate in the IV South American Youth Games.
The Venezuelan national team will aim to surpass the Venezuelan harvest in the previous edition of Rosario, Argentina 2022, where he won 12 medals, divided into four gold medals and the same amount of silver and bronze metals, according to a press release from the Ministry of Popular Power for Sports.
The squad is made up of 12 female and nine male representatives, led by Waleska Ortiz and Richard Peña.
Peña reaches the contest with the best record of the season of 47.41 in the 400 that place him momentarily in first place over Brazil's Johnata Vinicio with 47.44. The Yaracuyan also joins the list of 400 hurdles and mixed 4×400.
For his part, Ortiz, with the mark of the year of 54.64, is in second place in the round of the oval, behind Colombian Michel Gómez with 54.23.
The Guaireña will also see action the 200-meter ride with her compatriot Dilany Melo. They will complete the women's national team Osmary Pacheco in 400 and 4×400, and Nicolth Cacique in 100 hurdles, 4×100 and 4×400.
In the field tests, Ana León and Oriana Saavedra will defend the tricolor pole, Sahra Boada in 100 hurdles and long jump, Yoglannys Arenas and Samara Boada in the triple jump.
Isabel Sánchez will also do the same when throwing bullet and disc and Aura Ramos in the javelin.
The nine-man squad is completed by Aarón Falcon in 100 and 200 meters, Jessi Chacón in 5,000 marches, Jesús Álvarez in 400 and 4×400 mixed, Cristian Jiménez in 110 hurdles.
Meanwhile, in men's field sports, Emmanuel Chávez will do the same in the long jump, Julio Parra in the discus and bullet throw, Javier Celis in the hammer throw and Cristopher Becerra in the high jump.
The athletics of the IV South American Youth Games will take place in two venues: the track tests will be held at the Rommel Fernández stadium, while the field modalities will take place in the oval of the High Performance Sports Center.
The multi-sport event will raise the curtain on April 12, however, the athletics competitions are scheduled to jump to the tartan from 22 to 25.
A total of 2,000 athletes from 15 countries in the region will be present at the joust in the 22 sports included in the Panama 2026 program.
