Venezuelan Athletics led the Spanish championship

Venezuelan athletics based on Iberian soil led the rankings in three of the track and field events held in the framework of the First Division Iberdrola Championship of Pereiro Aguiar and the Joma Division of Honor competition in Salamanca.
On the Josefina Salgado de Pereiro Aguiar athletic track, the Venezuelan Andrea Purica won the 100 meters in the open air in 11.63.
Her compatriot Nediam Vargas accompanied her on the podium, occupying the second step with 11.67, while the local sprinter Maitane Nanclares with 12.16 ranked third.
Vargas obtained a second podium during the joust when he commanded the 200-meter championship with 24.01, a time that represents the best start to the season in the last five years.
Meanwhile, the decathlonist, Gerson Izaguirre, measured himself in two of his dominant modalities: In the 110-meter hurdles, he won the gold medal when he crossed the finish line with 14.12, while in pole vaulting he ranked sixth with a mark of 4.36 meters.
