Venezuelan boating achieved three World Cup finals in Hungary

National canoeing was present at three finals of the World Speed Cup held last weekend in the Hungarian city of Szeged.
The Criollos entered their names in the decisive series in speed and endurance tests to strengthen their preparation for the 25th Central American and Caribbean Games 2026.
Outstanding performance
The canoeist Jeremi Iglesia achieved the most outstanding performance by demonstrating a progressive technique in his performance that allowed him to join the final of the C1 500 meters.
Iglesia achieved a first half of 2:02.29 in qualifying round three, recorded that he later improved to 1:56.18 in the semifinals and brought him to 1:52.62 in the decisive round that placed him in the eighth place of the final C.
Canache left his mark
The women's division also left its mark with the Bolivarian champion of 2025, Yocelin Canache, who demonstrated explosiveness and speed against the world elite in the K1 200 meters, where she scored in eighth place with 42.47 in the final C,
For his part, César Iglesias showed strength and endurance to place 13th in the exhausting distance C1 5,000 meters that culminated at 28:11.01.
Strategic Involvement
The participation of the Venezuelan delegation during the Szeged Rowing World Cup served to prepare for the Santo Domingo 2026 Central American and Caribbean Games, scheduled for next July.
