The Venezuelan César Leal, a member of the Scientific Semilleros program promoted by the Bolivarian Government, won the silver medal in the International Youth Math Challenge (IYMC), which brings together young people from all over the world to demonstrate their mathematical abilities.

The Minister of Popular Power for Science and Technology, Gabriela Jiménez, stressed on her Telegram channel that “this triumph is also a celebration of the vision that drives the formation of the Genius Generation, scientific and technological, of the Venezuela of the future, as President Nicolás Maduro instructed us.”

The official explained that the young Venezuelan won the silver medal after competing with students from 107 countries, including participants from 17 American nations, “an extraordinary achievement that projects the creative genius of our youth beyond borders,” she emphasized.

In reference to the competition, he explained that “it was developed in three phases in which participants faced stimulating problems in topics ranging from geometry to number theory”.
