The 76th edition of the Matteotti Trophy was won by Venezuelan cyclist Orluis Aular, from Caja Rural-Seguros RGA, successfully completing his tour of Italy.

The 27-year-old Venezuelan added his fifth victory of the season in the European country, after a 194-kilometer course starting and finishing in Pescara, on a thirteen-lap circuit with Tiberi, Colle Scorrano and Montesilvano Colle as the outstanding climbs.

Aular achieved first place with a time of 4 hours, 27 minutes and 47 seconds, closely beating Alessandro Covi and Alexey Lutsenko, who completed the podium with him.

With this victory, the Venezuelan writes his name along with other world cycling greats who were winners of this event, such as the Dutchman Sjoerd Bax, who won in 2023, and the Italians Matteo Tretin and Valerio Conti.
