Through its account on the social network Instagram, the National Cinematography Center (CNAC) reported that the Venezuelan film “Guiomar Narváez in sustained love”, by director Jinán Al-Shereidah Narváez, won the Fémin'Îles Jury Prize at Femifest Guadalupe 2026.

“On Saturday, February 28, during the Closing Ceremony of the outstanding international film event FEMiFEST Guadalupe, the award of the Fémin'Îles Jury Prize was announced to the Venezuelan film “Guiomar Narváez in Sustained Love”, by director Jinán Al-Shereidah Narváez, daughter of the pianist,” wrote the CNAC on its social network.

During the award ceremony, the jury said that it is “a beautiful cinematographic work about a lineage of women, all of them musicians that is transmitted from generation to generation. At the center, Guiomar, an extraordinary pianist of world renown, a tireless fighter to include academic and popular music in the Venezuelan pantheon, sows the seeds of music in her country and in the world”.

“We liked the construction, the articulation of the intimate and the Venezuelan culture, the quality work, the historical depth, the loving and rebellious view of the children... It is a film as poetic as it is political that reminds us that the soul of a country, its language, its music and its culture are elements of resistance,” highlighted the jury.

This documentary feature film takes a journey through the life and work of the pianist, surrounded by prominent figures in Venezuelan musical history, such as Vicente Emilio Sojo, Inocente Carreño, María Luisa Escobar, Aldemaro Romero and Morella Muñoz. The story written by screenwriter Carlos Tabares and Jinán Al-Shereidah.

The film, which culminated in October 2025, was made thanks to the public call in Venezuela from the CNAC, through which it obtained funding for its screenplay development and production of the documentary feature film.
