Venezuelan Foreign Ministry promotes research work for pending delimitations in the Caribbean Sea

Committed to safeguarding national sovereignty on the Caribbean façade, the Ministry for Foreign Affairs and International Trade, through expert geographers and diplomats from the Border Office, made an institutional visit to the Naval Base “Mariscal Juan Crisóstomo Falcón” on the Paraguaná Peninsula, Falcón state.
The team of experts in Law of the Sea and maritime geography in the Caribbean approached the facilities of this strategic military unit to learn first-hand the characteristics and capabilities of the scientific research vessels that the Bolivarian Navy has for the study of the coasts, the territorial sea and the vast exclusive economic zone of the Venezuelan sea.
This visit allowed us to learn about the work and expertise of the men and women responsible for ensuring the operation, maintenance, supply and repair of naval units.
As a sign of the State's vision of projection and strategic alliance, the delegation toured the facilities, accompanied by Alberto Mijares, CEO of Operations of Ocean Geophycs Surveus C.A., a Venezuelan company with a high technical level for maritime, fluvial and lake studies; together they boarded the ship “Moruy” to verify their capabilities for the mission required by the Venezuelan Foreign Ministry, in this exploratory phase of the international mission planned and guarantee its security conditions for the experts who will address it, with the objective of reaffirming Venezuela's leadership in the Caribbean maritime scenario.
