Venezuelan players join MLB training camps

With the participation of 123 Venezuelan players, 78 on a roster of 40 and 45 as guests, the Major League Baseball training camps are opened for the season that begins on March 25.

According to the specialized press, the Venezuelan group has 40 pitchers, 33 infielders, 20 fielders and 30 receivers.

Gardener Ronald Acuña Jr. , star of the Atlanta Braves, will be one of the players to watch in spring camps. There are also pitchers Ranger Suárez and Robert Suárez, forerunner Eugenio Suárez and infielder Luis Arráez.

Left-handed starter Ranger Suarez will pitch for the Boston Red Sox after signing a five-year, $130 million contract. The reliever Robert Suárez also appears. For his part, Eugenio Suárez returns to the Cincinnati Reds and Luis Arráez agreed with the San Francisco Giants for one year and $12 million.
