Venezuelan rhythmic gymnastics plays out in Russia

The national rhythmic gymnastics team is ready for its first international competition, in St. Petersburg, Russia, to participate in the Grand Prix Champions Cup Alina Kabaeva, an invitational preparatory event that will be held on March 14 and 15 at the SKA Arena.

The competition will serve as a competitive and evaluative model for gymnasts with a view to their participation in the fundamental events of the year: the Rio de Janeiro Pan American Championship, the 25th Central American and Caribbean Games in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, and the XIII South American Games in Santa Fe, Argentina.

The team responsible for wearing the tricolor leotard is led by Jimena Domínguez and Luciana Caraballo, who will take on the challenge in individual competitions, while in the team modality, trust will be placed in Gabriela Rodríguez, Kaily Ramírez, Camila Campos, Mariana Dona and Samantha Rojas.

The Venezuelan delegation arrived on Russian soil under the technical direction of coaches Marilis Cabello, Katty Araujo and Judge Yulmara Monasterio.

The program of activities that will take place at the SKA Arena will take place over two days. The action will begin on Saturday, March 14, with the individual qualifying rounds by implement and the overall classification.

Later, on Sunday 15th, the finals of the Alina Kabaeva Grand Prix Champions Cup will take place.
