With a categorical 3-0, the men's national under-17 volleyball team started its participation in the category's world championship on the right foot, after beating host Qatar this Wednesday with scores of 25-16, 25-16 and 25-23 at the Doha Sports Complex.

The cast led by coach Marín Pérez confirmed the dominance he had exhibited in the Pan American Cup, showing tactical strength and authority on the court since the start of the match, according to the Ministry of People's Power for Sports.

The Venezuelan troop took control of the actions early in the first round, supported by the shot and interception of Benjamín García, who made seven decisive moves on the net, accompanied by the work on the ground of the free Jhonny González. Collective effectiveness served to fasten the initial stretch without suffocation. During the second chapter, the Venezuelan attack rested on the figure of Diego Rondón, whose effectiveness scored 10 units to distance the team on the scoreboard and put the 2-0 with the same guarism as the first set.

The Qatari team tried to react in the third stage, leading 10-7, but the national team adjusted ranks through the offensive rotation led by Rondón, García, César Parra and captain Ángel Echarre. The distributed shot made it possible to turn the score around to 24-21, withstanding rival pressure in the final plays to achieve the final 25-23. Diego Rondón and Benjamín García finished as the top gunners in the national delegation, recording 14 points per head.

Venezuela will seek to seal its ticket to the round of 16 this Saturday, when it measures its strength against Tunisia starting at 4:00 am.
