Venezuelan students present their short films at the Cinemateca Nacional

Students from different regions of Venezuela meet at the Cinemateca room in Caracas to celebrate the third edition of the “Encuentro en Corto 2026" festival.

During this cultural event, Venezolana de Televisión reported on its website, young filmmakers present their audiovisual proposals to compete for the awards for best direction, audience award and best short film.

Participating works cover varying genres and formats, such as fiction, documentary and animation. Additionally, the program includes talks and training workshops given by leading figures in the national film industry.

The president of the National Autonomous Cinematography Center (CNAC), Román Chamorro, highlighted the importance of this showcase as a key space for training new generations of storytellers.

For their part, the young participants express their enthusiasm for the inclusion of emerging talent in the National Cinematheque.

The functions and activities remain open to the general public in the Cinemateca room until September 6. The initiative seeks to give visibility to youth creative work and to strengthen the country's film scene.
