The Venezuelan José “Gollito” Estredo won the first victory of the year in 2026 at the Cartagena Windspot Kite and Foil Open and won the first spot in sailing at the 2026 Central American and Caribbean Games.

The event was held at the Windspot club in Cartagena de Indias, at its headquarters in El Laguito, where the winds were between 15 and 22, where Estredo, a specialist in free windsurfing, managed to stand out in IQFoil with mastery, technique and elegance to win one of the two places awarded in the specialty.

The second place in the race went to Luis Antonio Plata Cruz, from Colombia. While the third place went to Venezuela's Carenys Salazar.
