The Executive Vice President of the Bolivarian Republic of
Venezuela, Delcy Rodríguez, presented a document on Monday that evidences the
lobby carried out by ExxonMobil against oil licensees in the country,
stressing that the transnational oil company paid not to renew Chevron's license.
At a press conference, from the Miraflores Palace,
Rodríguez pointed out that this is a plan of revenge against Venezuela with the support of the national and international extreme right and stressed that, among
the authors of this document, there is Juan Zarate, known as the architect
of the sanctions.
He stressed that the document was made to influence the
authorities of the United States (US) administration against
Venezuela, “in order to say that more sanctions, which obviously cause great economic
suffering in the population, generate the possibilities of 'regime' change,” he criticized.
“They are asking for more internal political pressure, they are referring to coups
d'etat, to assassination, to undermining the territorial integrity of Venezuela. They have tried all
this,” said the Vice President.
