The Executive Vice President of the Republic, Delcy Rodríguez, inaugurated this Thursday, November 28, the 18th edition of the International Tourism Fair (FITVEN) Táchira 2024, whose guest country is Russia and a total of 40 countries will participate.

Rodríguez took a tour of the various stands to appreciate the exhibitions of the 40 participating countries, whom he welcomed on behalf of the President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro, to this event that takes place in San Cristóbal and will end next Sunday, December 1st.

“We are really amazed to open this extraordinary international fair, because 40 countries, more than 300 tour operators and delegations from all over the world, have come to the state of Táchira, because tourism is definitely an engine of the national economy,” he said.

He recalled that the economy is “a victim of unilateral coercive measures because of irrationality, and here what we are seeing is an example of what brotherhood and cooperation between countries through tourism should be”.

He also congratulated the Russian ambassador to Venezuela, Sergey Melik-Bagdasarov for the exhibition of his country and the ministers of tourism that make up the Bolivarian Alliance for the Peoples of Our America - Peoples' Trade Agreement (ALBA-TCP), who are meeting in Táchira.

He also extended congratulations for the organization of the event to the Minister of Popular Power for Tourism, Leticia Gómez, the president of the Instituto Marca País, Daniella Cabello and the governor of Chira, Freddy Bernal.

The vice-president highlighted the commitment of the Venezuelan people to continue working to promote tourism in the country, in order to strengthen the momentum of the national financial system.
