Venezuelan William Villanueva won the gold medal in billiards in the three-way individual men's category at the 2024 Ayacucho Bicentennial Bolivarian Games, after beating José Luis Bleichner from Bolivia 30-19 .

Villanueva started the day losing to Huberney Cataño from Colombia, 30-26, went to the losers round and beat Juan Cartagena de Bolivia 30-10.

In the semifinal, he got rid of José Garcia from Colombia 30-20.

“I always tried not to open the game to him because he's a dangerous player. If he made it to the final it's because he's very good. I was focused and I tried to manage it in the game,” Villanueva said at the end of the match, MinDeporte press review.

He said that after falling into the winners' round, he began to play well. “Thank God I played the important games very well, which is the important thing,” Villanueva said.
