The Vinotinto Under 17 won its first point in the International Promising Youth Tournament after equaling 1-1 against Argentina, in a match played at the La Boutique Stadium in Córdoba.
In the 43rd minute, Román Lozada recovered a ball on the rival field, about 25 meters away from the Argentine goal, advanced with determination and took a powerful shot that beat the local goalkeeper to overtake Venezuela on the scoreboard, a press review by the Venezuelan Football Federation (FVF).
Two minutes later, at 45, the national team was left with one man less after the expulsion of Román Lozada, the author of the goal, after the referee interpreted an offence as a use of excessive force. From that moment on, the party demanded a collective effort marked by defensive order, commitment to coverage and the group's courage to sustain the advantage.
Equality for the local team reached the 66th minute, through Mateo Sánchez, after an action on the right wing that led to a cross in the area and a header that ended up beating the nets.
