Vladimir Putin hails Nicolás Maduro's victory in the presidential elections (+statement)

This Monday, through a statement, the President of the Russian Federation, Vladimir Putin welcomed the victory of Nicolás Maduro Moros in the presidential elections that took place on Sunday.

Dear Mr. Maduro,

Dear Nicolas,

Receive my sincerest congratulations on Your re-election as President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela.

Russian-Venezuelan relations have the character of a strategic partnership. I am sure that His activities as Head of State will continue to contribute to their progressive development in all areas.

This fully responds to the interests of our friendly peoples and is in line with the construction of a more just and democratic world order.

I would like to reiterate our willingness to continue our constructive work on current issues on the bilateral and international agenda. Remember that you are always welcome on Russian soil.

I wish him success, as well as good health and well-being.
