The president of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, recalled this Monday the 15th anniversary of Bolivia becoming a Plurinational State, under the mandate of the indigenous leader and then president of the Andean country, Evo Morales.

Bolivia commemorates the Day of the Plurinational State, the date on which the recognition of the indigenous origin of that nation is celebrated as the fruit of the social struggle and cultural resistance of its people. What a hug and affection from Venezuela to our Bolivian sisters and brothers!” , said the head of state through his account on the social network X.

On January 22, 2009, Bolivia ceased to be a republic and became a new form of nation, known as the Plurinational State, capable of including its 36 indigenous peoples with whom 41% of the population is related, according to the 2012 census.
