The general secretary of the United
Socialist Party of Venezuela (PSUV), Diosdado Cabello, led the
customary red awning press conference this Monday, March 10, in which
he highlighted the tasks of the militancy ahead of the elections of May 25.
In this regard, he convened the
Base Assemblies to be held this coming Saturday, March 15, to nominate candidates for the elections of
deputies to the
National Assembly, Governors and Legislative Councils. In addition, he
referred to the creation of a new movement and a new appointment
within the awning.
- “On Saturday, March 15, there will be
meetings in the 47,560 communities with the militant comrades of the PSUV,
but any colleague from any party of the Great Patriotic
Pole can also attend to make their proposal, all Venezuelans over 15 years of age can go.”
- “Make your proposal in a free,
transparent, conscious way (...) so that we can have candidates for the AN, Governorates and State Legislative Councils.”
- “The line is that there is no line, go
and apply to whoever you want, free of pressure, free of
any form of intentionality to favor someone in particular, don't eat coba on anyone,
the application is free and without pressure.”
- “We announce the creation of the July 28 Constitutional Reform Movement in homage to Commander Chávez, but
also to the great victory won on July 28 in the
presidential elections, it will be a wide space of summation, of consensus, for this
reform to be approved by the vast majority of Venezuelans.”
- “The Party has appointed Eduardo Piñate as the new
secretary of this body. We thank our
colleague Fidel Vásquez, thank you for such dedication and we are making changes as we go
.”
He also mentioned the case of the Plan Return
to the Homeland, following the decision of President Nicolás Maduro to suspend returnee
flights from the United States to Venezuela.
- “We said something is wrong here,
so we suspend everything (...) it's not our fault (...) and the party supports
the president in all of this.”
- “We are not in a hurry here, nobody forces
us to do anything (...) we are going to continue; the Plan
Back to the Fatherland is not temporary because the United States said
we are going to send those who live here, the Plan Back to the Fatherland has been going on
since 2018 and more than 920 thousand Venezuelans have returned (...) and soon
a flight will come from Bolivia with compatriots”.
- “All we have asked
for is respect, we don't meddle in anyone's internal affairs and we hope that no one
will meddle in ours.”
- “It's a great campaign against
Venezuelans, of demonizing Venezuelans wherever
they are in the world and that's where hate campaigns came from,
persecution against Venezuelans, here was a detailed review of each of these people who have come from the United States, only 15
(they have
an account of justice) and none of them have a link to the Aragua Train.”
In the same way, he mentioned the Venezuelan
extreme right that insists on its conspiracy against Venezuela.
In addition to the recent provocations by the government of Guyana and ExxonMobil
.
- “It's sad how the
Venezuelan opposition defends Guyana instead of defending its country. This
domestic opposition embodied by (Julio) Borges, those
(Leopoldo) López, María Corina (Machado), all of
them defend Guyana instead of defending their country, Venezuela.
They became clear that they don't love this country.”
- “Now we are going to elections for
governors, deputies and the Legislative Council
there (Guiana Essequiba). They say they're going to go to the
International Court of Justice, let them go. We will rely on popular
sovereignty, which is respected in Venezuela.
No one is going to impose a recipe on us, to tell us what we can or can't
do.”
- “They think we're
playing. The Essequibo is ours and is respected; we are
not going to allow anyone to usurp it.”
- “The Guyanese army and
the servant of ExxonMobil, who are president, have
tried to provoke our Armed Forces. They should
remember that 200 years can pass in this country when they provoke it and we will not relax
. Don't mess with Venezuela because we don't
mess with anyone.”
- “There is no leadership there, there is no organization
(...) everyone rules and no one obeys, the disaster, the disorder and they (the
extreme right) have no leadership, they are leaders of paper, of positions, while they have a position they figure out, if
they don't have office they are over”.
- “Now they're going to take their clothes out in the
sun, now they're going to say how much money La Sayona stole,
because they're all going to fall on them.”
He reaffirmed that despite the attacks and sanctions, the revolutionary forces are still united and, together with the people, they will continue to advance the development of Venezuela.
- “They, without a doubt, aim to
harm Venezuela, to our people; we point out that
despite the blockade we will succeed.”
- “We continue to move forward and that
plan will guide us in overcoming new obstacles. They say that every crisis
must create opportunities that realize that we know how to take advantage of
those crises and we are not going to get upset. We have shown him that
we have resisted fighting and that we are capable of winning.”
- “It is increasingly evident that
this Revolution is feminist, that its
organized vanguard is patriotic women.”
- “Reflect on the need to remain united in the face of all eventualities, always united. That is the greatest strength of the Bolivarian Revolution.”
