The Venezuelan player for the Milwaukee Brewers, William Contreras, was chosen as Major League Baseball (MLB) National League Player of the Week for the first time in his career.

The Venezuelan batted for an average of .391 (23-9), with two doubles, three home runs, 10 RBIs, six scored, two walks on the ball, slugging of .870 and an on-base percentage of .423, in six games, LVBP press review.

Contreras, led the RBIs department; tied for third place in bases reached (20) and home runs; he also ranked fourth in slugging and OPS (1,293); and equaled the sixth rung in average, among the sluggers of the National League.

He also became the first recipient in the history of the Brewers to win the prize and the seventh Venezuelan with a week of .390, more than five extra bases, three home runs and 10 RBIs.

This is the second time in the recently started season in the major leagues that a Venezuelan player has won the Player of the Week in the National League, after Eugenio Suárez's achievement.
