Women's and men's tennis teams victorious in their first South American Championship presentation

The Venezuelan tennis players of the women's and men's teams started the South American Tennis Championship with a double victory, against host Ecuador and against Argentina, respectively.

The women's team is made up of Stephanie Pumar, Renatta Morillo and Clara Márque z, while the men's team is made up of Ignacio Mejías, Andrés Sánchez and Antonie Yamin, from the 14-year-old category,

The first match of this championship began with Morillo's victory in three sets with 4-6, 6-2 and 6-3 against Ecuadorian Camila Zabala.

Then, the Venezuelan Pumar maintained the lead thanks to a solid 6-3 and 6-1 against Ana Machuca, while in the doubles match they signed the victory with a double 6-3 result.

For his part, Sánchez beat Argentinian Facundo Leiva in three sets with 6-1 and 6-4, and Mejías beat Pedro Frenkel in one hour twenty minutes with a 6-2 and 6-3 score.

In the duo match, Yamin took the place of Mejías and together with Sánchez they dominated the Argentines in just 59 minutes with a firm 6-4 and 6-1.

Those led by Néstor Molina will now face Argentina on the second day of this tournament, while those led by Román Recarte will face Chile.
