Women's participation in scientific research reached 53% in 2025 in Venezuela

The president in charge of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Delcy Rodríguez, praised this Wednesday the wide participation of women in scientific research activities in the country, which reached 53% in 2025.

During a telephone contact with the participants of the Meeting of Women and Girls in Science, which is being held in Caracas, Rodríguez highlighted that this figure is 20 points higher than the global average of 33%.

In this regard, she emphasized that in Venezuela science and technology are aimed “for peaceful development, science and technology for life, for our health, for our scientific-technological independence (...) I am very pleased to know that women scientists in Venezuela are taking that good path for national development,” she stressed.
