The eleventh edition of the La Movida de San Agustín Festival closed last Saturday, May 23, in Caracas, after 12 days of artistic programming under the slogan “Where Caracas Moves”, with the participation of 80 groups in different spaces of the San Agustín parish.
According to
information from Venezolana de Televisión, the event, whose
main stages were the Alameda Theater and the community, integrated
contemporary, traditional, nationalist dance, classical ballet, street dance and popular
dances, in a deployment that combined community and professional groups.
The
organizers Alexana Jiménez and Oswaldo Marchionda highlighted the
community nature of the festival and the role of the neighborhood as a living stage, where
spaces become part of staging and artistic creation.
Jiménez stressed
that “the magic of the San Agustín festival is the neighborhood as its
stage”, while Marchionda highlighted the diversity of participants and the
breadth of the dance movement in the city, which integrates different genres and forms of organization.
The festival is consolidated as a cultural meeting space that promotes the diversity of the Caracas performing movement and the active participation of communities in artistic production.
