Early in the morning of Monday, July 7, the spokesman for the Armed Forces of Yemen, Brigadier General Yahya Saree, confirmed the Israeli attacks on the ports of Hodeidah, Ras Issa and Salif, as well as on the Ras Katheeb power plant, and assured that the Houthi air force neutralized much of the Zionist aggression.
The Telesur website notes that Brigadier General Saree stated: “Yemeni air defenses effectively confronted Israeli aggression and forced a large part of their formations to abandon operations.”
He explained that the operation to respond to the attacks was carried out “with a large batch of homemade surface-to-air missiles”, which caused a great state of confusion between the pilots and the Israeli operating rooms, according to the senior military official.
Once again, he reaffirmed that the defenses of the Ansar Allah movement are ready and present to face aggressions against his country with all their strength and capacity.
He also added that these aggressions on their ports will not diminish their attacks in support of the Gazan people: “These attacks will not affect our military capabilities, and support operations for Gaza and Palestine will continue at a high pace.”
The Zionist Defense Minister, Israel Katz, reported that they were carried out as part of an operation called “Black Flag”, aimed at Yemeni infrastructure that has attacked ships in the Red Sea because of its links with the Zionist entity.
In this regard, a correspondent for Al Mayadeen indicated that 10 Israeli planes left Yemeni airspace after the Houthis' defense was activated.
The same source stated that clashes between Yemeni air forces and occupying aircraft lasted more than half an hour in airspace over the Red Sea.
