Young people from the Caracas neighborhood developed training camp at La Fuga Bike Park

The Antonio Cermeño Neighborhood Youth Foundation, an entity attached to the Ministry of Popular Power for Communes and Social Movements (MinComunas), held a training camp in Caracas with the objective of providing young people with tools in various areas such as health, education, entrepreneurship and enjoying recreational sports activities.
The camp took place in the open spaces of La Fuga Bike Park, located at km 7 of La Panamericana, Urbanismo Felipe Acosta, Coche parish in Caracas, where more than 70 young people from the 22 parishes in Caracas participated.
The participants had the opportunity to learn about the plans and programs implemented by the Neighborhood Youth Foundation, such as “Activate your Neighborhood”, “Estudiándola” and “Cuadra tu Chamba”, in the immediate vicinity of the park, which has a beautiful view and green areas that connect with nature, is a place suitable for healthy recreation.
In this regard, the director of JDB in Caracas, Wilmar Rondón, explained that the objective of this type of camp is to promote the participation and organization of young people in the territory. “In addition, we serve the most vulnerable young people, we promote sports, recreation and culture.”
Eliud Baudin, responsible for La Fuga Park, said that the purpose is to provide a grain of sand so that young people in the neighborhood can visit spaces like this, for healthy recreation and to keep them away from vices. “Showing forms of local production that have been working within the park to contribute to the local economy through productive channels”.
Baudin reported that in La Fuga Park you can enjoy different activities, such as: riding bicycles, mountain hiking, playing video games in the gaming area, camping tents, drinking good coffee and eating a delicious sandwich. It also has bike rental, parking service, podcast room, multipurpose room and bathrooms.
For her part, Yineidit Barrera, national training director of JDB, gave a talk about the programs developed by the Neighborhood Youth Foundation and what are the strategies to achieve the organization and participation of youth in the Community Councils and Communes. In addition, he carried out a dynamic with young people to promote companionship and coexistence.
Anyelina Nieves, a young participant living in the parish of La Vega, stressed that these types of activities are a good initiative to learn new experiences by expanding knowledge. “I invite young people to be part of the Neighborhood Youth Movement.
Omar Rivero, a resident of the Sucre parish, participated in the bicycle race, coming in second place. “I invite you to come and visit La Fuga, I would repeat the experience, because it's a very nice place for outdoor activities.”
It is worth noting that this is the first Youth Camp in Caracas in the La Fuga Multimodal Mountain Biking Park, which expects to receive more young people during the holiday season.
The mission of the Antonio Cermeño Neighborhood Youth Foundation is to train future social leaders and strengthen the community fabric in order to strengthen State policies from the territory and strengthen the leading role of Venezuelan youth.
