The leader of the Ukrainian regime, Volodimir Zelensky, appointed Denis Shmygal as the new defense minister, replacing Rustem Umerov, in the readjustment of his cabinet following the agreement to send weapons to Kiev by the United States (USA).

For the position of prime minister of the country, Zelenski proposed the current head of the Economics portfolio, Yulia Sviridenko.

After the announcements, Zelenski met with Shmygal and assured that they discussed “strategic steps for the transformation of the Executive Power”, and stated that “there will be changes, in particular in the defense sector, in all projects that guarantee the stability of the State and society.”
