Venezuela closes the year with a new achievement in the agro-productive sector, the sixth export of 200 tons of cocoa to the Russian Federation; it consolidates the presence of the Venezuelan product in international markets and the quality of one of the most recognized cacaos in the world.
The shipment is made up of grains from the country's main producing areas: Miranda, Sucre, Monagas and Mérida, regions that have historically been references in the production of this sector and that today are becoming protagonists of national economic expansion.
The Minister of Popular Power for Productive Agriculture and Lands, Julio León, stressed that this operation takes place in the strategic alliance of the Venezuelan Cocoa Corporation with the Russian company “New Cocoa Production”, which strengthens bilateral trade ties.
The head of the agricultural portfolio explained that “two benefit centers for cocoa are currently being strengthened in the state of Sucre, which are 80% complete, which will allow production to continue to strengthen”; he pointed out that the implementation of the Agroproductive Integration Plan is being contemplated with all the actors in the cocoa sector.
This achievement is in addition to the progress achieved with the Economic Recovery Plan, which seeks to diversify exports, boost domestic production and guarantee the sustainability of the Venezuelan economy, as guided by the President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro.
