25 dead after landslide in eastern Afghanistan

This Monday, the district governor of Norgaram,
Qari Habibullah Sabir, reported that 25 people died and another 10 were
injured by a landslide that affected a village in the province of Nuristan, eastern Afghanistan this Sunday.
In this regard, he explained that the
collapse occurred after heavy rains and snowfall on the night of this February
18, in which the most affected are children and women.
At least 20 homes were also destroyed or heavily damaged.
As
published by the Xinhua portal, the spokesman for the national
disaster authority, Mullah Janan Saeq, said that the number of victims could vary.
Security forces are deployed in the area.
