The sector vice-president of Science, Technology, Ecosocialism and Health, Gabriela Jiménez Ramírez, reported that 40 tons of medical supplies arrived in the country from Brazil, intended for the treatment of patients with kidney diseases.
Through his Telegram channel, he specified that this first shipment, of an expected total of 300 tons, was received together with the authorities of the Pan American Health Organization (PAHO), Armando de Negri, and the Brazilian embassy in Venezuela, Glivânia Maria de Oliveira.
“We received this shipment to replace what was destroyed after the criminal, vile and immoral attack perpetrated by the Government of the United States, an act that directly violated the right to health of our people,” he said.
The batch includes 110,000 hemodialysis kits, dialyzers and catheters that guarantee 100% coverage of the National Hemodialysis Program, benefiting more than 9,000 patients, with special priority for children.
Ramírez, on behalf of the president in charge Delcy Rodríguez, to President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva for this show of solidarity and international cooperation that reinforces the sovereignty and health of the Venezuelan people.
