The president of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela,
Delcy Rodríguez, asked the National Assembly (AN) to partially reform the
Constitutional Law against Hate, for Peaceful Coexistence and Tolerance.
“We are continuing to take steps towards a new phase of
citizen coexistence in Venezuela,” said the president on her social networks, where
she shared the letter sent to the President of the Parliament, Jorge Rodríguez, with the request for reform of
the legal instrument in force since 2017.
He stressed that the renewal of the Act has as its
main objective “to advance the decriminalization of the types of criminal offences provided for in this
regulation and to correct deviations in their application”.
“This reform seeks to open new spaces for
reunion between Venezuelans and to promote tolerance for diversity in
full respect for human dignity,” added the Head of State in her message.
