President Delcy Rodríguez led the formal start of the Winter Cycle Maize Harvest Plan

The president of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela,
Delcy Rodríguez, led this Tuesday, from the Portuguese state, the
formal start of the Winter Cycle Maize Harvest Plan.
In the company of different authorities and local producers,
the president supervised the start of the harvest for the winter 2026 cycle, which
entered its initial harvest phase with a productive expansion driven
mainly by corn.
The expected production for this year provides an
equivalent coverage of 27.9% of the annual demand for rice, 62.1% of white corn for pre-cooked
flour and 58.9% of yellow corn intended mainly for balanced animal feed.
The Portuguese state has the highest harvest in the
cycle and constitutes the main operational epicenter of rice
and corn harvesting, totaling 45,134 hectares harvested equivalent to 71.97% of the
national area, providing about 265,876 tons of production obtained.
