The deputy to the National
Assembly (AN), Liliana González, reported that in the state of Miranda the 468 communal
circuits are active and organized to participate
in the first National Popular Consultation of this year, which will take place on February 2.
“We have taken
stock of the progress made on the established schedule. There are 468
electoral circuits that in Miranda will be ready for this process of participatory and
leading democracy. We spoke at this meeting, in addition to technical
support for the communes and the People's Power, on the part of the National
Electoral Council (CNE) and the AN,” he explained during a meeting of the Miranda
Electoral Commission.
He also indicated
that communities are uploading their respective projects, so
he urged those who have not yet done so to catch up, as there is an
established time limit in the automated digital system.
He recalled that the
electoral campaign begins this Tuesday, January 21, and ends on the 28th, with the purpose of
presenting to citizens the proposed community projects and making the
respective call to vote “for the welfare of the community”.
“These projects
allow us to benefit the community directly. Community councils,
as the main element of planning in the territory, have
to decide what their needs are, establish priorities and
apply for their projects,” he argued.
He indicated that the entity's Electoral
Commission established with the CNE all the parameters
for the training of witnesses and the Community Electoral Commission, which will
govern the process and which will then certify the voting totals.
“I think these are big issues, we have a process of six popular consultations that are going to take place. This is the first one that we are going to achieve successfully in Miranda, and well, all the support (from the AN) for these six consultations (...) this commission is permanently installed for this year to continue making progress in all the consultations,” he stressed.
