According to a survey conducted by The Washington Post, it revealed that 61% of Jews in the United States (USA) believe that Israel commits war crimes and 39% accuse it of genocide against the Palestinian people in the face of its military offensive on the Gaza Strip.

In addition, the American media indicated that the results suggest a possible historic rupture in the relationship between the American Jewish community and the State of Israel, Telesur reports.

Similarly, the survey noted that 68% of respondents rate Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's management negatively, and 48% rate his leadership as “bad”, representing an increase of 20 percentage points compared to a similar poll five years ago.

He also specified that despite the harsh criticism of the Israeli Government's actions, 94% of respondents say that Hamas has also committed war crimes against Israelis. The community is divided over the operations in Gaza: 46% approve of them, while 48% oppose them.

After the Hamas attack on October 7, 2023, Tel Aviv's retaliatory incursion has caused the death of more than 37,000 Palestinians, according to figures from the Gaza Ministry of Health, in addition to causing mass displacement and a hunger crisis in the territory.
