The majority of Israelis are calling for the resignation of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu because of his responsibility in the regime's failure to prevent the Palestinian operation “Al-Qasa Storm”, according to a survey released by Última Noticias.

After the resignation of high-profile Israeli military figures, including the chief of staff, Herzi Halevi, the commander of the southern region Yaron Finkelman, commander of the Gaza division, Avi Rosenfeld; and the head of the military intelligence division, Aharon Haliva, because of the army's failure to prevent the unprecedented operation launched on October 7, 2023, political and popular pressure has increased on Netanyahu.

In this regard, a survey, published this Friday by the Hebrew daily Maariv, indicates that 62% of Israelis believe that, like senior military figures, Netanyahu should resign because of his responsibility for the failure of October 7.

Only 29% of society opposes the resignation of the prime minister, according to the survey, while 9% have not commented on the matter.

The wave of resignation that swept the regime came on the third day of the entry into force of a ceasefire agreement between Israel and the Palestinian Resistance movement HAMAS after more than 15 months of the Israeli genocidal war in the Gaza Strip.

The pact contemplates an exchange of 33 Israeli detainees for more than 1900 Palestinian prisoners in the first phase of the truce that will last 42 days. However, repeated violations of the armistice by the regime have increased uncertainty about the full implementation of the agreement.
