On September 1, 1961, the Movement of Non-Aligned Countries was founded, a forum for political consultation for the countries of the South, whose immediate precedent was the creation of the 10 Principles of Bandung of 1955.
This First Conference-Summit in Belgrade, former Yugoslavia, was attended by 29 countries that identified themselves as opposing the colonial system of the time.
